Gretchen Carey, a known expert on recycling, food waste diversion, and careers in the waste world, has spoken at ten colleges and universities in Massachusetts. These include Tufts, Brandeis, Olin, Harvard, Northeastern University, and every UMass branch.

She enjoys being the advisor for student projects as well as subject matter expert for grants in academic research. Here are roles she has played in the last decade:

  • Guest Lecturer on recycling, trash, food waste, waste diversion, and architectural design for waste.

  • Subject Matter Expert on waste infrastructure for engineering and material sciences classes.

  • Advisor for Marketing and Advertising classes, helping students to create a Campus Recycling Campaign.

  • Guide to students interested in Job Opportunities in the sustainable materials management and waste industries.

  • Entrepreneurship advisor in sustainability startup businesses in the waste industry.
